Taking action on World Mental Health Day 2019

On World Mental Health Day, we are pleased to announce that Strictly Education has signed up to the Where’s Your Head At? Workplace Manifesto, in conjunction with Bauer Media and MHFA England. The company commits to delivering a mentally healthy workplace for all employees as per the government produced Thriving at Work review.

We are also highlighting the World Health Organisation’s 40 Seconds of Action campaign, advising that every 40 seconds a life is lost to mental health issues.

As an organisation that works solely in the education sector, Strictly Education does not underestimate the pressures and stress encountered in school environments, by teaching, support and leadership roles alike. Strictly Education’s recommendation to all UK schools, is to undertake a survey with staff that allows them to anonymously identify issues that impact their mental health and wellbeing in the school environment. We encourage whole-school mental health training that enables co-workers to recognise signals that their peers may need additional support. A list of resources can be found below.

For practical advice, school staff may consider attending the School Staff Employee Mental Health and Wellbeing Conference in Milton Keynes on 27th February 2020.
