National Teaching Assistants' Day 2023

Celebrating and recognising the contribution of Teaching Assistants in our classrooms.

National Teaching Assistants' Day is celebrated annually, and in 2023 it’s taking place on September 29th. It is a day to recognise the hard work and dedication of teaching assistants (TAs) in supporting children's education, and an opportunity for schools to celebrate their own TAs by expressing their gratitude and appreciation for teaching assistants online and in school.

School leaders can use National Teaching Assistants' Day as a timely reminder of the benefits of investing in the professional and career development of their teaching assistants. Supporting TAs to achieve Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status is a great way to recognise their hard work and dedication. This can be done through training and assessment, which can be provided by a small number of organisations, which includes Strictly Education as a key centre for the south of England. By supporting their TAs through their progress to HLTA, schools can ensure that they have a highly skilled and motivated team supporting children's education.

National Teaching Assistants' Day is not just about recognising the work of TAs, but also about celebrating their contribution to the education system. Teaching assistants play a vital role in supporting teachers, helping children with their learning, and creating a positive and inclusive environment in the classroom. They are an integral part of the education system and deserve to be recognised for their hard work and dedication.
