As one of the most prestigious events in the education sector, the MAT Awards 2023 in London showcased some of the brightest minds and most innovative teams from multi-academy trusts. Following The MAT Conference earlier in the day, the awards ceremony celebrated outstanding achievements in leadership, teamwork, and strategic thinking.
One of the most highly anticipated categories of the night was the MAT Leadership Team of the Year award – sponsored by Strictly Education. This is awarded to a leadership team that has demonstrated exceptional performance, vision, and innovation over the past year. After a rigorous judging process from a panel at Strictly Education, the award was presented to the leadership team of The Rivers Academy Trust by Barry Smith, Head of Business Development and Sarah Kerr, Business Development Manager.
The Rivers Academy Trust leadership team had impressed the judges with their ability to navigate the challenges of the past year with agility and resilience. They had implemented a range of initiatives to support their learners, employees and communities during difficult times.
