Applications are open for designated teaching schools, multi-academy trusts, or local authorities for a third round of the Strategic School Improvement Fund (SSIF). This £140 million funding stream is meant to support first, infant, primary, secondary, middle, all-through, maintained nursery schools, alternative provision and special academies and maintained schools, post-16 academies, and pupil referral units, with improvement projects to commence and end between September 2018 and March 2020.

The SSIF is targeted to fund a broad range of school improvement activities including, (but not limited to), improving leadership, governance, teaching methods and approaches, and financial health and efficiency. It is however advisable to first check your school or trust’s eligibility before attempting to apply.

If you have checked and know your schools fulfil all the required eligibility criteria, you can apply through the online application form. There is a printable paper version of the application which can be downloaded here.

The deadline for receiving applications is midday on Friday 20th April 2018.
