So many new starters? Make onboarding staff easy

It’s as much part of the first week of term as new pencil cases and forgotten gym kit – the admin mountain of onboarding a raft of fresh staff.

But smart schools are avoiding the September bottleneck by onboarding their new starters with EduPeople, the new HR and payroll system from Strictly Education.

You can log new employees onto the system from the time they are appointed in June/July, completing much of the work before you break up for the summer.

And because EduPeople has a single point of data entry for both HR and payroll admin, the total admin burden of bringing on a new member of staff is dramatically reduced.

Significant time saving

All information entered throughout the recruitment process is already in your payroll system.

When larger MATs have 50 new starters, this means a significant saving in time.

A new member of staff can be given prior (but limited) access to Employee Self Service (ESS) to complete their part of onboarding.

They have an account set up on the ESS app and can enter their bank details for their first payroll (saving your school more admin).

New starters benefit, too. They can see their first day/week/month at a glance and click on links to policies such as fire safety training. So your employee knows what to expect and nothing important is overlooked in their busy first few days.

Contract management

EduPeople also takes care of contract management.

Once a new joiner has accepted an offer EduPeople can produce their contract and send it out to them. The system includes three contracts specific to your school, for support workers, teaching staff and leadership. Alternatively, EduPeople hosts a large array of contract samples you can use, from joining the school to pay increments to going part-time.

If a MAT has a dozen contracts, EduPeople consultants can help consolidate them into three core templates.
