Pay Award and Appeals Video Guide
In partnership with NAHT, Strictly Education has produced a short video to help guide head teachers, governors and senior leaders manage their way through the new pay award and pay appeals processes.
There are many scenarios in which a member of staff might not agree with their appraisal and subsequent pay award. In these cases they have the right to appeal either informally, in writing to the pay committee, or through a hearing of the pay appeal committee whose decision is final.
The video looks in turn at the three key stages of the new processes, namely:
- Conducting performance appraisals
- Determining pay awards
- Managing pay appeals
It clearly states at each step the different roles of the line manager, head teacher, pay awards committee and pay appeals committee.
